Summary-
It seems that Herman Cain, before a scandal caused him to drop out of the race for president, was one of the most promising people on the side of the Republicans. Most of this can be attributed to his use of the free publicity that his youtube commerical many considered to be "strange" gained, and also to the extensive media coverage of things he said that could be considered controversial or even crazy.

Connection-
It seems that simply being exposed to the people and becoming well-known from the media is enough to gain the attention needed to be a successful candidate for an office. This can easily be connected to the entire unit in class devoted to advertisements used by candidates, and the many sources that were studied supported the idea that effective advertising was the most effective way to get elected.

Personal Reaction-
It seems that being the most outlandish person will get someone a job in politics, but it probably should not be so. For one thing, quiet yet capable people can end up being ignored, and for another, America's leaders should not be selected from a mental ward simply because they are interesting to see on the news.
